Problem

You're unable to check in the DE Out of Band Extension EEDEEP 2.4.

The ePO Server Task Log records the following incorrect EEDEEP 2.0 error when you try to check in the EEDEEP 2.4 extension on an ePO 5.x Server:

Command Failed: Missing dependencies are required by extension EEDEEP: EPOAMT: 2.0. Please ensure these extensions and minimum versions are installed.
Failed to check in extension 'Drive Encryption : Out Of Band Management Extension'.
Completed: Check in components (The components(s) failed to check in).

Cause

The are two causes:

Cause 1 (Incorrect version displayed)
The incorrect error that's displayed (EPOAMT: 2.0) vs the expected (EPOAMT: 2.4) is the result of a known issue. The issue is documented in KB84502 - Drive Encryption 7.x Known Issues.

Issue: When you check in the EEDeep extension (EEDeep.zip) shipped with DE 7.1 before the ePO Deep Command (eDC) 2.0 extension, the following incorrect error message is displayed:

Missing dependencies is required by EEDEEP.EPO.AMT:1.5.0.511.

The message is intended to show that the required supported eDC version is 2.0.

Workaround: Check in eDC version 2.0.

NOTE: Although the example above covers a different version, the same issue applies to later versions.

Cause 2 (Missing AMT.XML)
The ePO Extension folder doesn't contain AMT.XML. The ePO Deep Command has two separate extensions, a free Discovery and Reporting extension and a licensed Control extension. The latter extension hasn't been installed.

Solution

Although an incorrect version number is displayed, it must be ignored. This cosmetic issue will be addressed in a future release or updated version of the product.

Install the ePO-licensed Control Deep Command AMT extension first.
Check in the DE EEDeep 2.4 extension.
