Environment

Drive Encryption (DE ) 7.2.1, 7.2.0, 7.1.x

Summary

The EEPC 7.0.4 EEAdmin extension is included with DE 7.1, but because of the changes to the LDAPSync and User Directory, you must migrate existing encryption-related user data across to the new structures. EEPC 7.0.4 includes a User Data Upgrade task that moves any existing data across to the new structures.

Problem

The EEPC 7.0.4 migration task EE : User Data Upgrade fails.

Caused by: com.mcafee.epe.migrateV6.exception.MigrationException: ResultSet may only be accessed in a forward direction.

at com.mcafee.epe.migrateV6.service.LdapSync.getEpeServers(LdapSync.java:204)

Cause

This is caused by an SQL server settings issue. The Cursor Threshold value (this is an advanced option) is set to 0. By default, the value of Cursor Threshold is -1.

Solution

Change the Cursor Threshold value to -1, and then at the ePO server, run the EE: User Data Upgrade task again.

For instructions about setting the Cursor Threshold value, see the Microsoft SQL site.

NOTE: When you set the cursor threshold to -1, all keysets are generated synchronously, which benefits small cursor sets.
