Perform the following steps if you want to disable ACC manually:
Windows:

- The following information is intended for System Administrators. Registry modifications are irreversible and could cause system failure if done incorrectly.
- Before proceeding, Technical Support strongly recommends that you back up your registry and understand the restore process. For more information, see the Microsoft Windows registry information for advanced users article.
- Do not run a REG file that is not confirmed to be a genuine registry import file.
- Boot the system to Safe Mode (press F8 before the Windows boot screen).
- Open the Registry editor. Click Start, Run, type regedit, and click OK.
- Navigate to the following registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\swin\Parameters]
- Double-click DWORD RTEModeOnReboot and change the value to 0.
- Reboot the system. ACC is now disabled.
Linux:
- Start the system in the single-user mode.
- Open the Application Control configuration file at /etc/mcafee/solidcore/solidcore.conf.
- Change the value of parameter RTEModeOnReboot to be 0x0.
- Run the ACC service manually (/<install‑dir>/mcafee/solidcore/scripts/scsrvc ‑d).
This action starts ACC in Disabled mode.
