Hewlett Packard (HP) ElitePad 1000 G2 For details of DE 7.1.x supported environments, see KB79422 - Supported platforms for Drive Encryption 7.x. ProblemYou observe the following symptoms during preboot on the HP ElitePad 1000 G2:
CauseThe required DE pointer protocols aren't enabled during a normal startup on this model.
NOTE: When you use the DE tablet test tool, you must access the startup selection screen, so it'll appear as though the system passes all the tests. This is misleading, because the system actually has an issue with the required protocols not being enabled on a normal boot. For details about the UEFI-based tablet test tool, see KB78050 - How to use the Drive Encryption UEFI testing tool to verify if your tablet responds to the touch interface. SolutionContact HP and open a ticket to investigate why the pointer protocols are not available until the startup selection screen.
In the interim, implement the workaround below. WorkaroundUse the following method to enable the pointer protocols:
The above action enables the pointer protocols and sets the screen size. The OSK should be the correct size and respond to touch input.
NOTE: The external USB Keyboard may still need to be disconnected and reconnected to start functioning. Affected ProductsLanguages:This article is available in the following languages: |
