What happens if I can’t find my Reader in the supported Readers list?
In general, if a Reader isn't listed in this document, it's unsupported, but a Reader might sometimes work even if it's not listed here.
A
working Reader is one that has been tested and verified as working by a third party, but not by our DE QA team. You can use a working Reader in your environment and use the product. If you use it in this configuration, you accept that we haven’t officially tested and don't support the Reader because QA hasn't fully validated the Reader as
working as expected with DE.
If you require a new Reader to be supported, submit a
product idea. Product ideas are directed to Product Management.
NOTE: If a
Chip/Smart Card Interface Devices (CCID)-compliant Reader isn't listed in this document, it's considered to be unsupported. But, it still has a better chance of working directly with DE than a noncompliant Reader. Because DE has implemented the functionality to support CCID-compliant Readers, there's a chance that they'll work
out of the box. But, we support and recommend only the supported and working Readers provided in the table.
What happens if my Reader is in the supported list but the supported Reader doesn't work?
Contact Technical Support and open a Service Request for the issue. We’ll review the way your environment is configured and will conduct further research to investigate the issue if your environment matches the required settings. One possible outcome is that we might request you to submit a PER (see the PER process section below).
