Problem

After successfully installing DE or EEPC, encrypting the hard disk on the Lenovo Helix Tablet, and restarting, the system becomes unresponsive after displaying the Lenovo logo splash screen.

The DE or EEPC preboot login screen is never displayed.

The issue is reported with this model on Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit) operating systems, but it may also occur on 32-bit systems.

Cause

An DE or EEPC conflicts with the UEFI Firmware when USB 3.0 Mode (Emulation) is set to Enabled or Auto.

Solution

Lenovo and Trellix have determined that the following updates need to be installed:
