About the executable File Description field

Endpoint Security (ENS) Firewall 10.x

Summary

The File Description field for an executable, specified in several ENS Firewall policies, is not a comment field. This field is used to verify an application's file description inside the executable itself.

NOTE: For clarification purposes, a screenshot for an executable File Description entry is contained in the Attachment section of this article.

To obtain the file description for an executable:

Press Windows+R, type explorer, and click OK.
Go to the folder where the executable is stored.
Right-click the executable and click Properties. Review the Description information.

NOTE: If you need to apply comments to an executable for an ENS Firewall rule, use the Note section of the rule.
