Illegible characters display when users who have a roaming profile view an encrypted text file.
You see this issue on a system other than the system on which the file was first encrypted using FRP.
Example:
- A user creates a file encryption policy to encrypt notepad.exe with a regular key.
- The user creates a text file on one client. The key selected in the policy encrypts the file, and the file is placed on the desktop. The user can view the file without issue on that system.
- The user logs on to another system with FRP, and opens the file on the desktop. But the user sees only garbled characters.
