Summary

The Windows Debug Diagnostics tool is designed to help troubleshoot performance issues in any Windows user-mode process. Use this tool if you see any of the following symptoms after you install FRP.

Debug Diagnostics 1.1 tool can help troubleshoot an application for the following conditions:

Stops responding
Performs slowly
Crashes
Exhibits any other abnormal behavior on processes such as:
- Explorer.exe
- MfeFfCore.exe

After you run the tool, it generates an application dump that contains valuable information for analyzing the cause of the abnormal behavior.

Solution

Download the Microsoft Windows Debug Diagnostics (DebugDiag) Tool from the Microsoft Download Center.
Use the appropriate instructions for crashed/unresponsive applications:

Windows 7 and later

Crashed applications	If an application crashes on Vista, it automatically creates a process minidump in [%SystemRoot%\Minidump]. Retrieve the correct Process Minidump and submit to Engineering for analysis.
Unresponsive applications	Open the Task Manager and identify the process that has stopped and requires monitoring. Right-click the process and select Create dump. A Full Memory Dump file is generated. Retrieve the correct Process Minidump from: [%SystemRoot%\Minidump] Submit to us for analysis.

For the preceding cases, send the generated dump reports to us for further processing.

IMPORTANT: The following files are required for Technical Support:

Minimum Escalation Requirements (MER) files for your specific product. For information about downloading the MERs for each product, see KB59385 - How to use MER tools with supported products.
Other files and logs, as requested by Technical Support.

To contact Technical Support, go to the Create a Service Request page and log on to the ServicePortal.

If you are a registered user, type your User ID and Password, and then click Log In.
If you are not a registered user, click Register and complete the fields to have your password and instructions emailed to you.
